I know, I know...I am sure that many of you who know me are appalled that I have fallen into the "trap" of watching this "reality" show - the Bachelor. Well, you can blame one or more of my coworkers for that one! It is really like watching a bad train accident - it is messy, confusing, weird, but yet you cannot help yourself from watching.
Anyway, last night was the Bachelor Women Tell All. It was interesting, and a little disappointing. The most controversial, talked about woman on the show, Michelle, came off as the poor innocent victim, and most everyone was trying to protect and console her. Pssh. I really liked Jackie's description of her, "Michelle, you're like a spider. You're creepy and everyone's scared of you!" haha ZING! When Michelle was brought up to the "hot seat," a few of the girls really let her have it - and I think, good for them. On the show, Michelle has come across as a very selfish, evil, controlling person. She said a lot of mean, hurtful things about a lot of the girls and acted very badly the majority of the time. There are clips from the show that were shown where she just looked downright evil-possessed. Creeper. I was glad that the ladies that spoke up said what they had to say. For the most part, I think that what they said was true, but the way that they said it was pretty direct. All in all, it made for some interesting TV, and for all of us who did not enjoy Michelle on the show - we were all silently cheering "yes!" I can still remember the Valentine's Day episode - the BEST episode - when Michelle was booted off the show. About fricken' time, I remember thinking!
The show was 2 hours, as it normally is on Monday nights (a "commitment," as one of my coworkers stated- and she was right!). I thought it was a little long, and they did not talk to some of the later girls, like Shawntel (the funeral director and mortician). She had not said much throughout the entire show, and I felt sad for her. One thing that I did find really funny was the "bloopers" that they showed about filming the show - anything from a pot of sticks falling over behind where the women were seated for a shot, a naked man walking in the background on a beach area in South Africa to elephants getting busy on Emily and Brads date in South Africa! Those were some serious LOL moments!
One thing that is really funny about Tuesday mornings at work, are the comments and questions you can hear sprinkled throughout the building about last night's episode! This morning, my coworker and I were talking about it, and someone else from the department walked by and asked if we were talking about the Bachelor, and then joined in with her take on what had happened. I think I can speak for the group of us when I say that we will all be waiting on the edges of our couches for the ending of next Monday's show! He is going to propose (supposedly) to his gal he chooses to be his wife! Exciting! Most everyone that I have talked to is rooting for Emily. I really, really like her too, but also like his other option, Chantal. From the looks of the previews of next week, it looks like the bachelor gets frustrated with his situation with both ladies and considers walking away - for the second time doing the Bachelor show. This is the first season that I have watched more than one show, and I have to say, it is pretty interesting what happens...I think I watched one episode of one of the Bachelorette shows, but this was the only one that I was "told" to watch - and followed up with.
Anyway, as much as I liked watching the show, I am glad that there is going to be a break now for awhile. Also, At the end of the month I am going to visit a friend, and he already said that I "cannot" watch that show while staying with him. Haha - I still get to see the show come to an end. I would have found a way, one way or another.
