O-K-L-A-H-O-M-A
Derick and I went to the Chanhassen Dinner Theater last night for the first time and saw Oklahoma! It was a really great show!! The tickets said dinner would be served at 4:30pm, so we were there a little earlier than that, were seated (it holds about 600 people! Which I couldn't get over how many people there were in there!). Usually there are two other couples at the table with you. We ordered - Sirloin for Derick and the lemon pepper walleye for me. When the food came, it was nothing to write home about. Pretty bland and mushy, but it was edible. Pretty much when we were done with dinner, we had to wait around until the time of the play - 6:30pm. That seemed like quite a long time! Two of the ladies at our table came later - which is what we might do next time so we don't have to kill about an hour and a half.
I do have to say that the musical was great! All of the actors did a great job! And I KNEW one of the actors! Jeff Quast (who used to dance at the dance studio I went to - Butterfield Gallery of Dance!). So that was really fun to watch the musical and watch him in it. He was really good in the dance parts and was usually in the front row.
Also, today there was about 2 inches of fresh snow on the ground! My first two thoughts, in the order I had them were: "Snow, cool!" followed simultaneously by, "Snow! Aww crap, this means that people are going to have Driver's Alzheimer's today..." And it was true. It is still snowing from what I could tell outside. So, this should make for an interesting week. It is supposed to snow all week, but still be warm. weird.
So, things to do for this week...

So, things to do for this week...
- watch my shows Monday night
- Try my darndest to start thinking harder about the design contest for General Mills.
- Order our anniversary wedding cake (yum!)
- Get my key fab fixed (since they didn't fix it the last time I was in there I come to find out)
- Get Derick an anniversary card - or make one
- See if we need to make reservations for our 1 year wedding anniversary dinner @ The Chart House

Houston, I have inherited the antsy gene from my father!
And sometimes that proves to be a problem...
I have had a rather productive Saturday thus far but am still discontent to sit around and do nothing. Let me see here...for anyone that actually reads this and wonders, "Gee, Laura, I sure do wonder what your exciting life held today," let me share:
This morning, I woke up to a frosty surprise outside when Tucker was let outside...SNOW! That was quite interesting. I got ready to head out for some errands.
I went to the craft show at the Champlin High School. There were more booths there this year and I found this amazing soy scented candle booth! I bought three candles from her with the promise of purchasing more at a later date or next year when she comes back to the show! There were many booths of the same thing. A lot of jewelry booths, but I didn't really stick around too long. I took a couple laps and then went back to the candles. Picking the scents was the hardest part!
From there, it was off to the grocery store, as I hadn't seen my refrigerator and pantry get quite so low before. I was extatic when I pulled into the almost empty parking lot! I hate grocery shopping when there are a ton of people all trying to direct their carts, spouses and or children around the store all at the same time, and as it seems, all in the opposite direction from me at the time. But, sadly, my state of bliss did not last long as there seemed to be a flood of people just as I was rounding the 5th aisle. boo.
I made it out alive and the sky, since it had snowed, was looking really odd. I think it always does at this time of year. Almost a warning to us saying, " Yep, get ready for a cold, cold time..." So, I got home, unpacked everything and Derick and I got everything ready for pizza crock pot casserole. After THAT, we decided to take Tucker to the dog park! It was quite chilly and we indeed skipped the pond part of the path today!
After we were home, I decided to make these cookies that a coworker suggested and gave to me - including my favorite candy - Reeces peanut butter cups. All I have to say about the cookies is YUM~! So much for my plan to lose some weight...which I really really want to do soon.
Let me see, then I cleaned the bathrooms, sat down to eat dinner and watch the movie, Knowing, with Nicholas Cage. Wow. that movie is pretty weird/intense/creepy/scary. Not a huge fan. It was just weird.
So, I think all that I have to get done tomorrow is a little vacuuming (Derick said he will help) and dusting. Then *daa daa* we get to go on a hot date to the Chanhassen Dinner Theater to see Oklahoma - courtesy of my mom and dad as our one year wedding present! yay! I am pretty excited about that! I might need to find some other indoor hobby to keep me out of trouble though when the winter months hit!
I guess that is all for now!

I Can Feel it...coming in the air tonight...
The Monday night football game was quite possibly one of the most anticipated and watched regular season NFL football games : The Greenbay Packers vs the Minnesota Vikings with Brett Favre. The Packers lost at the Metrodome. It was a pretty awful game as far as the Packers were concerned. At the office we had rivals dress day, so we could wear Packers or Vikings clothing. I wore my Donald Driver jersey all day and didn't see another soul with Packer stuff on until I was walking out the door to leave!! Katie and I took a couple funny pictures as she was in her Peterson jersey:

Hehe! We had a little fun at the end of the day yesterday!
A Notice For Mother Nature: You can STOP with the waterworks now! It has been raining almost all day for the past 5 days straight! What a bummer! It just starts to weigh on a person when there is no sunshine - not that I can see it where I work in my office anyway, but we can HEAR the rain.
Derick had a job interview on Wednesday all the way up in Grand Rapids, MN! He should be hearing back today whether he got the job or not, so will be crossing our fingers for the job!
Saturday I will probably look into the Champlin craft show at the high school. It is always fun to walk around and see what people have made and think others will buy. There were some interesting things there last year. It is nice that it is close - I can walk to the show and back home! I also want to take Tucker to the dog park this weekend maybe with my friend, Erin and her dog Zoey!
Sunday - Derick and I have tickets to the Chanhassen dinner theater - curtosey of my parents- their 1 year wedding anniversary gift to us! Which also reminds me, I need to call the cake company and order our free 1 year wedding anniversary cake! yum!
There is a change in the weather coming through! Last night there was a frost advisory and many cars were glossed over this morning when I left for work. Sad. I am not ready for the cold winter yet. I am all for the autumn weather - throw on a light jacket or sweatshirt and head outside, but not the freezing cold, shovel-your-car-out-of-the-snowbank-after-work cold! Derick actually started the fireplace this morning to take the chill out of the house. I like fireplaces! So cozy!
Well, that is about enough for now!

Extra, Extra, Read All About It!
Here in Minnesota, it is truly Fall. I think the high for today is 60...brrr. What a change from the past couple of weeks! Last night there was a frost advisory. I had to bring in all of the rest of my plants and watch Tucker for awhile to ensure that he didn't make a snack out of them. He has this thing about leaves...he loves to eat them. It started when we first brought him home and played with him in the yard...goofy dog.
I like that the weather is getting cooler. I like living in a state that actually has seasons. I don't know how well I would do in a place like Arizona or Florida where it seems to be the same all year round. That, and all of the people complaining when the temperatures dip below 70. It would be funny to live in a place like North Carolina where, when it snows about 1/4 of an inch, people FREAK out! No driving, school and work are closed...crazy people. Derick did turn the heat on yesterday because it got cold. I don't know why, but in the summers he makes the house a freezer and in the winter it becomes an oven...is there no happy medium?!
I was able to get caught up on "my shows" last night and for that, i was very happy! How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory. The latter is one of my all-time favorite shows! So good! So it was just pretty much a night of relaxation as will tonight be as well. I have to pack an overnight bag since I will be staying at my parent's house to take care of Mitzy for them Thursday night through Friday. Too bad that she freaks out when she sees other dogs, otherwise we could bring her over to our house to play with Tucker.
{New news}
Derick got a call back for a job up in Grand Rapids, MN. He has an interview up there next Wednesday morning. He also has an application in with a school in St. Cloud and in Chanhassen. I have everything possible crossed that one of them comes through for him. I know that the distance would be rough if he got the Grand Rapids job. He would have to stay up there and come home on the weekends, but we will just have to cross that bridge when we come to it.
We had a surprise wedding shower for a girl at work! She is getting married this weekend! So that was fun! Her team got her one of those portable firepits and a beautiful cake! The following are the pictures I took of the moments! I threw them together to show her and threw in a little design flair, naturally :)
I got the green light from my boss to attend a one-day Photoshop training class at the Mpls Convention Center in October! I am really excited as I have never attended one of these before and it looks pretty interesting for a full day's worth of classes, and it's going to be expensed to the company as a continuation of my training! Whoo hoo! Even better!
I also have to plan a Potluck for our team for October (since I seem to be the only one for this task) and plan our team "Meet and Greet" open house through HR. And oh yeah, by the way, get the rest of my job accomplished in the meantime.
I might also explore and entertain the idea of entering a design contest for my mom's work. It is pretty in-depth as far as the designing goes: pick a theme, design a logo, trophy and slogan (and one more thing I always forget). The top prize is a $500 visa gift card and there are 4 runner-ups of $100. Anything would help at this point.
I am also back freelancing for my old neighbor for her starter-at home business. This is really fun for me as she has a good style and is easy to work with!
Oh, and on top of THAT, I went with my mom on Monday night to her Avon President's Club dinner meeting and somehow talked myself into grabbing extra books to route in my townhouse development. We'll see if I get any bites there. That would also bring in more money with not a ton of extra work. *sigh* there is no rest for the wicked...
