Hellooooooo IOWA!
Williamsburg, Iowa, to be exact. (I just Googled the population) Population: 2,818. So...that should give you some idea of how large it is here! The really nice thing about the drive to get here - the Outlet mall that I am helping one of our stores in is RIGHT off the highway. And for a 5 1/2 hour drive by myself, it wasn't too bad at all!
There were some really cool windmill farms on the way out here that really intrigued me. There is just something really kind of cool about seeing a bunch of them all standing in their rows. I dunno.
I stopped at one of the nicest rest-stops that I have ever been to before. It was really really clean on the inside and the outside had all these little cute "shelters" to serve as themed picnic shelters. Also, the first rest stop that I stopped at had a kid's playground. I thought to myself, that is a GREAT idea! Every rest stop should have one of those!! And, there was a "North Shore" vending machine... I didn't get a good look at it because there were people coming in, but I might have to try to stop at the same one on the way back home!
My hotel is RIGHT down the road from the Outlet mall - so that is nice! The weird thing - the two district managers that are opening the store with me down here - are staying at a Best Western. I am at the Super 8. Their hotel is ATTACHED to my hotel - but they act as separate hotels...so weird! One thing I miss in my room is a refrigerator!
Now, if I can get some more cold medicine and get some sleep in my tiny hotel, that would be great!! After watching The Voice, that is going to be the game plan - get ready for bed, snuggle up with my book for a few minutes and then work on sleep.
